Hand-drawn sketches of the Apple II by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak were auctioned for $ 630,272.
Art has many faces. In the US, 23 pages of Apple II sketches, signed by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, just sold for $ 630,272 at auction. These were sketches of one of the very first large-scale personal computers.

For some tech and art buffs, Steve Wozniak’s simple sketches for Apple II are real artefacts. Of all its products over the decades, Apple II has arguably played the most important role in establishing Apple as a major competitor in the personal computer market. Its simplicity and ability to display color graphics made it a success.
Steve Wozniak began these sketches of Apple II in 1975. He is said to have even provided a letter of authenticity to RR Auction, which has just completed the sale of more than ten Apple-related lots. “These documents, drawn in 1975, are my original Apple II prototype drawings and programming instructions,” Wozniak wrote. “They are precious,” he added.
The set of notes and diagrams consisted of 23 pages in total.
They were therefore sold to a private bidder, said RR Auction. The notes included diagrams for “bus sources”, “system synchronization”, “display”, etc., as well as 12 pages of handwritten programming instructions. “In these diagrams, you can even see my assembly technique, where I was going through the connections drawn in red when I soldered the wires,” he said.
The sketches weren’t the only products sold yesterday.
A pair of rainbow apple-shaped glasses, custom-made by an optometrist in 1979, sold for $ 18,972.50. A computer mouse over 50 years old was sold for $ 34,478.75 and a short job offer letter from Steve Jobs to Del Yocam that includes the signature line “I accept this amazingly awesome offer!” !! »Sold for $ 32,893.75.
Another item sold (and somewhat unnoticed) was a complete, working, complete Apple I sold complete, which sold for $ 736,862.50, or around $ 600,000. An Apple I had already been auctioned in 2017 and for $ 101,325, or seven times less.
