According to Engadget, Instagram is currently testing a new interface for Stories for its web version. Rather than taking up your entire screen, stories from several of your contacts would now be displayed simultaneously to help you navigate more easily. This new arrangement would better support the horizontal character of our computer screens. So we believe Instagram’s searches aren’t just for the web version, and this new design could roll out across devices in the coming months.
On a smartphone, this “carousel” view only manifests itself when moving from one Story to another. It is thus possible to intentionally ignore 10 contacts in order to quickly slide onto the publication of a specific friend. The idea is therefore different from the web version where Instagram tries to occupy your entire screen, even if the animations are the same.
