IPhone SE and iPhone 6s won’t work on iOS 15?

magazine team 30 Nov 2020

According to information from The Verifier, Apple is seriously considering removing older iPhone models from the list of iOS compatible phones.

The release of iOS 15 is still hypothetical, and according to Apple’s classic schedule, it should take place next September, a few days after the presentation of new iPhones.

This release of a new OS which could therefore mark the beginning of the end of the first generation iPhone SE as well as the iPhone 6s, which are today the oldest models of the Apple brand that support iOS 14 .

Information that comes to us from The Verifer, a media that has already illustrated itself a few years ago by announcing that the iPhone 5s and 6 would not be supported by iOS 12. An announcement that had proved to be correct in the months that followed. What to give a little more credit to this rumor concerning the first iPhone SE and iPhone 6s.

iOS 15 signs the end of iPhone SE and 6s?

iOS 15 may therefore no longer work on phones such as the first generation iPhone SE . Released in 2016 under iOS 9, Apple had ceased production of this small model in 2018. For the iPhone 6S, also affected according to this rumor, it was released in 2015 before its production was stopped in 2018. If these models are no longer updated by Apple, they will still be functional and can continue to live for a few more years under iOS 14.

With the very recent launch of iOS 14, it is still very difficult to make predictions about the new features that will be added to iOS 15. The first rumors should emerge in early 2021 before they are released. confirmed, or not, at the end of June during the presentation event of Apple.
