When you’re one of the richest countries in the world, you can afford to build some pretty cool, creative buildings. That’s certainly true for Singapore, and visitors would be wise to put these cool structures on their to-do lists.

  • Jewel Changi Airport
  • Marina Bay Sands
  • Gardens by the Bay
  • Pickering Hotel
  • The Pinnacle@Duxton

Jewel Changi Airport

Hanging out at in a terminal isn’t usually anyone’s top priority, but you’ll want to spend some time wandering around Singapore’s extravagant Changi Airport. Jewel at Changi Airport is a nature-themed complex that links three terminals and has an indoor waterfall and lots of retail stores. Head to the airport a few hours early so you can thoroughly explore this place.

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay is the epitome of glitz and glamour. So of course the Marina Bay Sands Hotel is just as over-the-top. This hotel consists of three towers, connected by a giant rooftop deck. Everything luxurious you can think of is available at this hotel, from an infinity pool to high-end retail shops and fine dining. At night, the entire place illuminates with multi-colored lights, making it one of the most Instagrammable buildings in Singapore.

Gardens by the Bay

Parks aren’t just parks in Singapore. The Gardens by the Bay consist of three parks decorated with giant tree-like structures. Imagine the Avenue of Baobabs in Madagascar, but instead of baobab trees, these works of art are made from thousands of Christmas lights. The greenhouses are impeccably maintained, a dream for any green-thumbed botanist or plant lover.

Pickering Hotel

Love the environment but want to stay at a 5-star hotel? Then you’ll want to visit the Pickering. This building is covered in vertical gardens from the ground all the way up to the top, almost as though the architects wanted to showcase a waterfall of plants. Like any 5-star hotel in Singapore, there are all the usual amenities: an infinity pool, a spa, fine dining, and high-end shopping.

The Pinnacle@Duxton

This structure looks less like a building and more like the Lego masterpiece of a giant child. There are 7 connected towers, each 50 stories high. The design is so unique and interesting that it has won countless awards over the years. Sky bridges that connect the buildings also include jogging tracks, playgrounds, and sky gardens for the residents to enjoy.
