If the Facebook group’s instant messaging service has come into conflict with Apple, it does not forget its users. Indeed, in recent days, Apple and Facebook have been facing each other in a war of influence on the issue of personal data.  WhatsApp, the world’s most widely used messaging app owned by Facebook, has been vocal on the matter .

But if these differences exist on the question of personal data, in particular on the question of tracing, something Apple wants to limit as much as possible and that Facebook has used as a business model  since its inception. WhatsApp doesn’t forget that the app has users on Apple brand phones and computers. Thus WhatsApp should soon make improvements to its service for Mac users.

Video and audio calls for the web application

The latest beta of the web version of WhatsApp indeed offers the possibility of making audio and video calls from a desktop computer. A feature that was still limited to the mobile and tablet application for the moment.

While the beta has only barely appeared, the messaging service is generally fast enough to implement new features in its consumer version . Audio and video calls could make an appearance in an upcoming update around the New Year, perhaps even before if the beta does not have a major flaw to fix.
